Dr. Gary Kugler specializes in surgery of the foot. He is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Kugler believes in conservative health care, and recommends surgery only when it is the very best way to remedy a problem. When surgery is necessary, Dr. Kugler performs the procedure(s) that will most effectively correct a patient's condition. As always, minimizing the patient's pain and inconvenience are of utmost importance to Dr. Kugler.

Certain foot conditions are best treated surgically, especially if a more conservative treatment regimen has proved unsuccessful. Some of the conditions that respond extremely well to surgery are Bunions and Hammertoes; Soft Tissue Lesions; Ingrown Nails; Heel Spurs; Neuromas; and some Arthritic Conditions. Most podiatric surgery is performed on an outpatient basis at a hospital, ambulatory surgery center or in the office.

If surgery is necessary to alleviate your podiatric condition, Dr. Kugler will explain the proposed procedure(s) in terms you can understand. He will make certain that you fully understand any alternate options for care, the expected post-operative course, and the potential risks/complications that may be associated with a particular procedure. Dr. Kugler always encourages his patients to ask questions concerning anything related to their course of treatment. He firmly believes that educating and informing his patients is of the utmost importance.
